- EPA per play allowed on defense; lower is better. Expected points added: how much a play changed the offense's expected points, based on down, distance and field position before and after it.
- Success
- Success rate allowed; lower is better. Share of plays that kept the offense on schedule: at least 50% of the yards to go on 1st down, 70% on 2nd, and all of it on 3rd or 4th. Touchdowns always count; turnovers never do.
- Explosive
- Share of opponent plays that were explosive; lower is better.
- Pts/Drive
- Points allowed per opponent drive, leaving out drives that end the half or game.
"Ranked" uses current rankings: the latest College Football Playoff ranking once the committee has released one that season (the selection-day ranking for past seasons), otherwise the latest AP poll. Rates are rebuilt from totals for whatever games the filters select. Click a column to sort.
